Striving to transform people’s lives is what we at IBM are focusing on as we develop leading edge technology to mine big data in the healthcare industry. We believe that hidden inside those mountains of information in healthcare are those golden nuggets of information, which when brought to light could produce desired outcomes and radically change the quality of care delivered to an individual.
With the patient foremost on our mind and the need to empower the physician with the right information at the point of care, IBM has developed a cognitive system called Watson with the Power processor as the compute engine. This engine can easily plow through 200 million pages of structured and unstructured data in less than 3 seconds, converting those mountains of raw information into actionable insights that can make a difference in a life or death situation for an individual.  We at IBM are working to make a difference as we work tirelessly to tame the beast called cancer.
Take a moment to learn about IBM Watson and how the compute engine based on Power processors can become a doctor’s best friend. Understand how IBM is creating a Smarter Planet and ultimately… transforming lives.
