Advanced Technical Skills Webinar: TSM Version 5 to Version 6 Migration (9/26, 10/4, 10/17)

(SEPT. 26) Session 1
Planning Considerations - This is the first in a series of three sessions which will cover upgrade considerations for TSM V5 to TSM V6. This session will include the following topics:
  • Reasons to make the move to TSM V6 now including a discussion of the TSM V5 end-of-support considerati ns
  • An overview of the new features in TSM V6 including Data Deduplication and Node Replication
  • Some considerations planning the upgrade including upgrade strategies and some examples of customer ex eriences
  • An overview of the TSM V6 education offeri  gs and the upgrade services offerings that are available
(OCT. 4) Session 2
Upgrade Details and Operations Center - This is the second in a series of three sessions which will cover upgrade considerations for TSM V5 to TSM V6. This session will include the following topics:
  • A detailed technical discussion of the upgra  e process which looks at the four upgrade options when using the TSM Upgrade Utility as well as a look at some of the other options for upgrade that do not use the TSM Upgrade Utility
  • A technical overview and demonstration of the new TSM Operations Center--the Operations Center is the totally reworked administration GUI for TSM V6
(OCT. 17) Session 3
Upgrade Details and Operations Center - This is the third in a series of three sessions which will cover upgrade considerations for TSM V5 to TSM V6. This session will include the following topics:
  • A recorded demo of an upgrade on a Windows platform
  • A recorded demo of an upgrade on a Linux platform
  • A recorded demo of an upgrade on an AIX platform
**Each of these recorded demos will last 30 minutes and will start on the half-hour.  Attendees are encouraged to join at the appropriate time(s) to see the demos for the platform(s) of interest:  10:00 CT for Windows, 10:30 CT for Linux and 11:00 CT for AIX.**
