Join the WebSphere Liberty Profile Virtual Proof of Technology on June 10th from 1pm to 3pm

A new edition of our Virtual Proof Of Technology (VPOT) Series for the WebSphere Liberty Profile will again be offered in Q2 2015. We will briefly cover the primary benefits of the WebSphere Liberty Profile, and then drill down into the new enhancements which were announced at our InterConnect event in February. The Liberty Profile’s continuous delivery model provides new optionally installable features which can be added to an existing WebSphere Liberty V8.5.5 installation with no requirement for a version upgrade or migration. Some of the February enhancements we will cover are

  • Pre-built and extendable Liberty profile Docker images and support for running in Docker containers to accelerate software deployment in hosts containing Docker engines
  • Further Java™ EE 7 components, including JSP 2.3, JDBC 4.1, and an API enhancement in support of Java API for WebSocket 1.1
  • Support for Java SE 8 - a major feature release which contains new features and enhancements targeted to enhance developer productivity and application performance enhancement

This in-your-office event includes hands-on labs to help you start using some of these new features. For those new to Liberty, the Liberty profile is a composable, simple to use, yet powerful application server for increased productivity. The composable nature of it makes it perfect for all environments, including development, production, small, large, cloud, and on-prem. It is both a developer-friendly and a production-ready Java runtime for web, OSGi, and mobile applications. Extremely fast restart times coupled with a small footprint and ease of use make the Liberty profile a great option for many of your application requirements.
